뉴욕 연회 한인여선교회연합회 선교학교를 인도하며
2021년 여름 하나님께서 사그라들지 않는 코비드의 여파 속에서도 뉴욕 연회 한인여선교회연합회 공동체 가운데 선교학교로 모일 수 있는 은혜를 주셨습니다. 이번 배움을 통해서 우리가 어떻게 그리스도의 제자의 삶을 살아내며 세상 가운데 하나님의 가족 공동체가 무엇인지 보여 줄 수 있는지 고민하는 의미 있는 시간을 갖았습니다.
하나님의 형상으로 지은바된 나에 대한 인식은 모두가 하나님 앞에 존귀하고 동등하다는 깨달음 속에서 현재와 마주했습니다. 오늘이 있게 된 과거를 뒤돌아 보았고 우리가 나가야할 미래도 꿈꾸며 바라보았습니다.
하나님께서는 이 여정을 예쁜 꽃들이 가득한 정원으로 가득 채우셨습니다. 함께 모인 저희들은 수국, 민들레, 연꽃, 그리고 분꽃으로 삼삼오오 모였습니다. 서로를 격려하고 인정하였습니다. 동시에 우리 안에 있던 상처를 대면하였습니다. 정원에 잡초를 보았고 돌 무더기를 인식했습니다. 하나님께서 허락하신 세계 안에 인간의 부족함과 죄악으로 어지럽고 파괴 되었으며 황폐한 모습들을 마주하게 되었습니다. 교회 속에 뿌리깊게 내려앉은 상처들을 고백하고 눈물로 기도하였습니다. 이민사회 안에 어둠으로 자리 잡아 우리를 힘들게 하는 문제들을 끌어 안고 기도하였습니다.
강사로 초대를 받은 저는 하나님의 은혜로 함께 어우러져 웃기도 하고 울기도 했습니다. 저보다 더 오랜 시간, 더 깊은 마음으로 교회와 이민 공동체 속에서 하나님의 나라를 품어온 주님의 딸들을 보며 웃을 수 밖에 없었고, 또 울 수 밖에 없었습니다. 복음을 붙들고 가정에서 교회에서 또한 사회에서 매일의 삶을 치열하게 살아가시는 주님의 자녀들을 통하여 하나님의 나라를 경험하였습니다.
뜨거운 여름 날 보다 더욱 뜨거운 열정으로 함께 주님의 나라를 꿈꾸며 기도한 주님의 자녀들을 위해 감히 위로와 격려의 맘을 나눕니다. 몸과 마음을 다해 주님의 나라를 세워가지만 너무나 당연한듯 여겨지는 세상 속에서 우리 주님께서 한 사람 한 사람을 기억하고 매 순간 동행 하고 계심을 경험할 수 있기를 기도합니다. 연꽃처럼, 민들레처럼, 분꽃처럼 또한 수국처럼 우리 주님의 손길로 빚어진 귀한 자녀들의 삶가운데 우리 주님의 구체적인 은혜가 있기를 간절히 기도합니다.
나눈것 보다 배운게 더 많기에 감사함 가득 안고, 우리를 이끄시는 거룩하신 하나님께 모든 영광을 돌립니다. 다시 또 만나 주님의 나라를 꿈꾸며 삶을 나눌 수 있기를 기대합니다.

Leading New York Conference KUMw Network Mission u:

Throughout summer 2021, God blessed our New York Conference KUMw Network to gather together through the Mission u even amidst the lingering COVID pandemic. Through this period of learning, we had a meaningful time to think about how we can live our lives as Christ's disciples and show what God's family community is to the world.

We took the perception of ‘I, created in the image of God’ and reflected it to the present, founded on the truth that everyone is precious and equal in God. We looked back on the past which led to today and dreamed together of the future that we should go to.

God filled this journey as a garden full of beautiful flowers. We gathered together in groups of hydrangeas, dandelions, lotus flowers, and four-o-clock flowers. We encouraged and acknowledged one another. At the same time, we faced the wounds inside of us. We saw the weeds and piles of stones in the garden. We stood face-to-face to the distorted, destroyed, and devastated images in this world affected by mankind’s sins and weaknesses. We confessed the wounds deeply rooted in the church and prayed with tears. We prayed for the problems that have turned into dark clouds in the immigrant society that suffocate and trouble us.

Invited as the speaker, I harmonized with all the various flowers by God's grace, laughing together and crying together. I couldn't help but laugh, as well as couldn’t help but cry at the daughters of the Lord––who have been embracing His Kingdom in the church and the immigration community for a longer time than I did, with a deeper heart than I’ve had. I was able to experience God’s Kingdom through the children of the Lord, who have been fiercely living day by day holding onto the gospel in the family, the church, and the society.

I dare to share my heart of comfort and encouragement to all the children of the Lord who dreamed and prayed together for the Kingdom with a burning flame of passion hotter than a hot summer day. In this world where our efforts and sacrifice to build the Kingdom of the Lord with all our might and heart are simply taken for granted, I pray that the Lord would remember each and every one of you, and that you would experience the Lord’s company each moment. It earnestly prays for the Lord’s individual and specific grace to shine on the lives of our precious, beloved children of God like the lotus flowers, dandelions, four-o-clock flowers, and hydrangeas.

With a heart full of thanks for having learned more than I have shared, I give all the glory to our holy God who leads us. I look forward to seeing you again to share our lives and envision the Lord’s Kingdom together.

민들레꽃 소그룹 :인종차별에 대한 공동 회개 기도문

하나님의 무조건적 사랑을 입은 자로서 타인을 하나님의 마음으로 대하지 못함을 회개합니다. 평등함과 동등함으로 지음 받은 우리가 피부색이 다르다고, 문화가 다르다고, 언어와 생각이 다르다고 무시한 우리의 생각과 말과 행동을 회개합니다.
우리가 우리 것만이 최고라고 생각하는 극우적인 생활 패턴이 오늘날에까지 이르렀습니다. 용서하여 주옵소서. 타인을 배려하고 존중하는 마음 갖게 하시고 그들을 향해 친절한 말과 행동할 수 있도록 저희와 동행하옵소서. 그리고 우리가 접한 다문화 환경을 받아들이고 그들과 더불어 충분히 기뻐할 수 있도록 도우시옵소서. 하나님의 선행은총을 입은 자들에게 자비와 긍휼로 함께하사 저희의 기도를 들으시옵소서.

감사와 찬양을 올려 드리며 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘!

민들레처럼 어려운 상황 가운데서도 하나님의 은총 안에서 우리의 교회가 꿋꿋이 잘 자라기를 기도합니다.
민들레의 홀씨처럼 하나님의 선행은총을 입은 교회가 세상으로 퍼져 나가기를 기도합니다.

연꽃 소그룹: 공동회개 기도문
하나님, 긍휼히 여기소서.
안일한 생각으로 내가 하는 행동은 인종차별이 아니라고 생각해온 것을 고백합니다. 우리 속에 있는 인종차별에 대해 인식하지 못하고 편견으로 이웃을 보아온 것을 회개합니다.
우리 안에 이웃에 대한 편견이 있습니다. 우리 속에 깊이 뿌리박힌 문화로, 교육받음으로, 전통으로 내려오는 관습들로 사람들을 차별해 왔음을 고백합니다.
여선교회를 통해 배웠음에도 불구하고 변하지 않는 모습을 고백합니다. 알면서 하지 못한 것을 회개합니다.

사람들은 다 그렇다고 핑계한 것을 고백합니다. 우리를 용서하옵소서. 저희를 고쳐주소서.
다른 이들의 삶을 듣고 이해하며 하나님의 한 가족임을 기억하며 살게 하옵소서. 아멘.

연꽃 소그룹이 꿈꾸는 교회를 위한 기도
하나님,
온 세상이, 모든 교회가 연결된 하나님의 가족 공동체인 것을 인지하고 가족으로 살아가는 우리가 되게 하여 주옵소서.

나와 다른 이들의 이야기를 들을 수 있는 귀와 인내를 주시고 또한 나의 이야기를 나눌 수 있는 용기를 주옵소서.
어려운 처지에 있는 ‘가족’의 이야기를 들으면 공감하며 행동으로 도울 수 있게 하옵소서.
무엇보다 하나님의 선행은총을 잊지 않게 하옵시고, 그 때문에 다른 이들을 동등하게 대우하며 만나게 하옵소서.
부정의와 고쳐야 할 일들이 있을 때 하나님의 칭의를 받아 의롭다고 칭해진 나를 기억하며

‘가족의 부족함’을 감당하고 바꿔나가게 하옵소서.
성화의 길을 열정으로 성령님의 도우심으로 걷게 하시고 함께 걷는 가족들이 있음을 기억하며

끝까지 이 길을 걸을 용기와 힘을 허락하옵소서.

Reflecting on New York Conference KUMw Network Mission u

Dandelion Small Group: Joint Repentance Prayer on Racism
We repent for not having been able to treat others with God's heart while we ourselves have received God’s unconditional love. We repent of our condescending thoughts, words, and actions all because of a different skin color, cultures, language, and ideas––when we were created equally.

The far-right lifestyle thinking that only ours is the best has continued on to this day. Please forgive us. Give us a considerate and respectful heart toward others and accompany us in the kind words that we speak and the kind actions we take towards them. And please help us to accept the multicultural environment we face and to fully enjoy ourselves.

God, may Your presence be upon us, who are clothed with Your goodness and grace. Be with us in Your mercy and compassion, and hear our prayer. We give you thanks and praise, and pray in the name of Jesus. Amen!

A prayer for the church that the Dandelion Small Group dreams of
We pray that our church would grow persistently and remain strong in God’s mercy even in midst of hardships, like dandelions; that it would spread throughout the world like dandelion seeds; and in the midst of difficulties, that our church would remain strong in the grace of God. May our church be always  grateful like the meaning of a dandelion flower. We pray in the name of Jesus. Aman!

Lotus Small Group: Joint Repentance Prayer
Lord, have mercy on us. We confess that we have been justifying our own discriminatory actions. We repent that we have not recognized the discriminatory thoughts inside of us, and for viewing our neighbors with prejudice. We have prejudice in us against our neighbors. We have discriminated against others with our deeply embedded cultural norms, education, and traditions. We confess that we couldn’t change even despite the lessons learned through UMW. We repent for not putting our knowledge into action. We made excuses that others are like that too.
Lord, forgive us. Please fix us and transform us. Help us to hear out the lives of others, and remember that we are all one family in God. Amen.

A prayer for the church that the Lotus Small Group dreams of
God, help us to see that all churches are a connected family community of God, and to live as family. Give us the listening ears and patience to listen to our and others’ stories, and also give us the courage to share our own stories. When we hear about a 'family' facing a difficult situation, help us to empathize and help with action. Above all, help us not to forget your goodness and grace, and remind us of it constantly to treat others fairly and equally. When there is injustice and problems to solve, let us remember that we have been sanctified and called righteous by God’s grace, and allow us to embrace a family’s weakness and improve them. Help us walk the way with passion and with the help of the Holy Spirit, and give us the courage and strength to pursue this journey until the end as we remember that we have family walking alongside us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

델라웨어-메릴랜드 연회 한인여선교회연합회 선교학교를 마치고
저는 이번 ‘연합감리교회 여선교회 선교학교 영성공부’를 통해 하나님께서 저에게 원하시고 말씀하신 목적과 비전을 이 소감문을 통해 함께 나누고자 합니다.
우리는 이 땅에 속한 거룩한 하나님의 딸입니다.
지금은 우리가 천국에 소망을 두고 하루하루 열심히 살고 있지만, 날마다 말씀과 기도를 통해서 우리의 삶과 말과 행동 속에 예수님의 모습을 보여주기 위해서 예절과 도덕 그리고 윤리를 잘 지켜야 합니다. 우리는 크리스천으로서 말투와 행동이 정말 중요하기 때문입니다. 우리나라의 옛 속담에 “집에서 새는 바가지 들에 가도 샌다.”라는, “본성이 나쁜 것은 어디를 가도 그 본색을 감출 수 없다.”라는 뜻으로 특히 교회에서뿐만 아니라 세상 가운데에서도 말과 행동은 언제나 조심해야 합니다. 성도님의 험담을 하고, 말을 전하거나 수단과 방법을 가리지 않고 교회 안에서 편을 가르는 등, 상대방을 비웃고 판단하는 말과 행동은 정말 삼가야 합니다. 결혼할 때, 하나님과 여러 친지 앞에서 ‘죽음이 우리를 나눌 때까지.. 검은 머리가 파 뿌리가 될 때까지..’ 등등의 내용으로 혼인 서약을 하잖아요? 지금 이 시대의 도덕은 문화에 좌지우지되어 시간이 지나면서 변합니다. 하나님께 맹세했던 것도 다 잊어버리고 내가 언제 그랬냐 하면서 사는 것이 지금의 현실이 되었습니다.
우리는 연합감리교회 여성으로 우리가 이 땅에 뿌리를 내린 존재-피조물입니다. 하나님의 형상으로 창조되었고, 사랑을 받는 존재이며, 모두가 평등한, 개개인이 소중한 하나님의 거룩한 딸입니다. 우리는 어디에서든지 사랑과 평등의 사상은 특히 교회에서 바르게 증언하고, 정의를 위해서 일어설 수 있는 하나님의 거룩한 딸이 되기를 소망해야 할 것입니다. 그러기 위해서 우리는 항상 깨어 현재를 살아야 할 것입니다. 먼저 하나님의 지혜를 구해야 하겠습니다. 왜 새벽기도가 필요합니까? 깨어 기도하고 말씀으로 무장하고 선으로 악을 이길 수 있는 전신 갑주를 입고, 이 세상의 모든 악하고 거짓된 것에 당당히 앞장설 수 있는 하나님의 지혜로 현실을 준비해야 하겠습니다.
하나님은 남자와 여자를 평등의 대상으로 만드셨지만, 많은 다른 이단과 교단들은 여자와 남자를 평등의 대상으로 보지 않고 차별하는 제도가 아직도 많이 있습니다. 그렇지만 감리교회에서는 여성과 남성을 동등한 존재로 봐서 많은 여성을 지도자로서 양성하였고, 테레사 후버(Teressa Hoover)와 같은 많은 훌륭한 지도자가 배출되었습니다. 그녀는 1968년에 연합감리교회 총회 세계 선교부의 여성국 총무로 선출된 최초의 흑인 미국인 여성으로, 저에게는 매우 인상적인 분입니다.
녹색교회 프로젝트는 또한 저에게 크게 마음에 감동이 왔습니다. 하나님께서 만드신 자연의 생태계와 하나님이 만드신 세상을 다시 회복시키며, 가족 공동체로서 인간과 자연이 함께 살아갈 수 있도록 우리 모두가 실천하는 환경 선교사가 되어야 하겠습니다. 그러기 위해서
1. 쓰레기를 줄여야 합니다. 우리 가정에 너무 많은 음식물 쓰레기가 배출되어 낭비가 많습니다. 절약하여 소비를 줄여야 하겠습니다.
2. 미세 플라스틱은 쓰지 말아야 합니다. 우리가 너무 많은 플라스틱을 쓰고 낭비합니다. 장바구니를 가져 가서 장을 보고, 플라스틱 안 쓰기 운동에 모두 참여해야 하겠습니다.
3. 공기의 오염을 방지하기 위해 자전거를 타거나, 많이 걷고, 하루에 2번 창문 열어 환기하며,
4. 집에서나 교회에서 텃밭을 가꾸어 농사를 지어 친환경 재료로 우리의 식탁을 준비하여, 음식을 만들어 나누어 먹으며 건강하게 살아야 하겠습니다. 고기를 덜 먹으며, 재배한 야채 과일을 먹기, 리사이클을 철저히 하기, 전기와 물을 절약하기 등의 작은 실천을 지금 당장 나와 교회에서 철저히 지키고 시작해야 할 것입니다.
저는 감리교인이라는 것이 너무 감사합니다. 왜냐하면 아펜젤러 선교사님께서 인천 제물포에 오셔서 세우신 ‘인천 내리감리교회’를 통해 저희 친할아버지, 친할머니께서 예수님을 영접하게 되셨고 저는 모태신앙으로 감리교회에서 계속 자랐기 때문입니다. 그래서인지 지금도 제가 감리교인이란 것에 너무너무 감사합니다.
이번 기회를 통해 많은 것을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 모든 스텝들과 김명래 총무님 등 준비하신 모든 여러 여선교회 임원 분들께 감사드립니다.

Delaware-Maryland Conference KUMw Network Mission u Reflection

I would like to share the purpose and vision that God wants for and has given me through the Spiritual Growth study at this year’s NNKUMw Mission u. We are God’s beloved, holy daughters belonging to this earth. Though we live day by day dreaming for His Kingdom, we must keep our manners, morality and ethics in order to reflect Christ in our lives, words, and actions. Because, as Christians, our words and actions are very important. Just like the old Korean saying, “A bucket that leaks in the house, will likewise still leak in the field.” meaning ‘a bad inherent trait cannot hide itself wherever it goes.’ Hence, we must always watch for our words and actions not only inside the church, but also in the world. Badmouthing a fellow church member, delivering negative words or causing divisions in the church, mocking and judging others must be stopped. At a wedding ceremony, we declare a marriage covenant saying, ‘till death do part… till the moment of grey hair, etc…’ Morals in this current age are easily swayed by the culture, and change over time. It’s a sad reality that we live life as if we have completely forgotten about what we have vowed to the Lord.

As UMW, we are beings, God’s creations rooted in this land. We are created in His image, His beloved, equal, and precious holy daughters. We must rightly testify to the beliefs of love and equality especially in the church, and must desire to be God’s holy daughters able to stand up for what’s just. To do that we should always be awake and live in the present. First, we need to seek God’s wisdom. Why do we need early morning prayer? To wake and pray, clothe ourselves with the Word, put on the armor of faith to win evil with good, and prepare the reality with God’s wisdom in order to confidently face all the evils and dishonesty in this world. God created men and women as equal beings, but a lot of other religions and denominations still don’t take gender equality and practice discrimination. Yet, the UMW believed women and men are equal, hence training lots of astounding women leaders, including Teressa Hoover, whom I find very aspiring personally. As was the first African-American chief executive of the United Methodist Women’s national policy making body who led the Women’s Division from 1968 to 1990.

The Green Church project also touched my heart deeply. We must restore the world and ecosystem that God has created, and live as environment missionaries for mankind and nature to coexist in harmony. In order for that we must practice: 1) Reduce waste. There is so much food waste coming from homes; we must reduce our spending. 2) Do not  use microplastic products. We overuse plastic and make plastic wastes. Let’s bring our grocery bags to shop, and all participate in the no-plastic movement. 3) Prevent air pollution by riding a bike, walking a lot, and opening up the window twice a day for the air to flow. 4) Start farming in the homes and the church, bring home-grown ingredients on the table, share food and live a healthy life. Eating less meat, eating home-grown veggies and fruits, strictly practicing recycling, saving water and electricity… We must practice these little things starting in our lives and in the churches.

I am so thankful to be a Methodist. Because my grandparents came to Christ through Naeri Methodist Church in Jemulpo, Incheon in Korea that was founded by Missionary Appenzeller, and I grew up as a believer in the UMC since in my mother’s womb. This makes me so grateful to be a Methodist believer. This Mission u opportunity opened my eyes to many realizations. I thank Myungrae Lee and many other KUMw leaders who made this Mission u possible.

뉴잉글랜드 연회 한인여선교회연합회 선교학교에 참석하고..

하루는 남편이 뉴잉글랜드 연회 한인여선교회연합회 회장님의 선교학교 세미나에 대한 홍보 이메일을 보내 주었다. 읽는 중에 한평생 여선교회를 위해 기도하시고 헌신하시다 작년에 소천하신 고 박덕련 권사님, 나의 사랑하고 존경하는 어머니가 생각나 많이 그리웠다. 오랜 세월 동안 장로교 통합 경남 여전도회 회장으로서 전국 여전도회에도 깊이 활동하시며 회원들의 교육과 선교를 위해 전화하시고 편지를 보내 격려하시고 애쓰셨던 어머니의 수고가 떠올라 뉴잉글랜드 연회 한인여선교회 임원진들의 수고에 감사하는 마음으로 참여하기로 한 선교학교에서 고요한 강사 목사님의 명강의와 회원들의 솔직한 나눔의 시간을 통해 믿음의 도전을 받는 귀한 시간을 누릴 수 있었다.
결혼전 목사와는 절대로 결혼하고 싶지 않다고 기도하던 나의 기도에 응답하신 하나님께서 MBA 유학을 준비하는 장래가 촉망되는 학생과 결혼하게 하시고 좋은 직장도 허락하셔서 참 감사하며 잘 지내고 있었다. 그런 우리에게 결혼 생활 3년이 지날 때쯤 주의 종의 길을 걷겠다는 마음을 갖게 하시고 신학 공부를 위해 미국으로와 한인교회를 찾아 신앙생활을 하던 중 마음에 시험 거리가 생겼다.미국 한인교회 목사님과 사모님의 삶의 모습은 나로 하여금 한인 교인들에 대해 마음을 굳게 닫게 했다.

담임 목사님과 사모님은 힘든 상황에도 교인분들과 공감하며 그들을 끌어안고 이해하시려는 모습을 보며 나는 이민을 오신 한국분들 사이에서 시달리고 싶지 않다는 이유로 졸업 후 처음부터 미국 교회를 섬기자고 남편에게 강하게 어필했다. 그런데 이번 선교학교에서 다른 사람들 안에 하나님의 형상이 있고 사랑으로 공감해야 함을 강의하시는데 문득 오래전 편견과 선입견으로 선을 긋고 미국 교회로 홀가분하게 도망갔던 내 모습을 생각나게 하시고 기도 한번 해보지 않고 기분과 감정대로 인생을 이끌어갔던 죄된 모습에 깊은 회개가 나왔다. 작년 팬데믹 기간중 이미 미국 교회 두 교회를 섬기고 있는 우리에게 한인교회도 맡아 섬기라는 말씀을 듣고 많이 당황했다. 왜 지금? 왜 우리가? 이런 생각이 들었지만, 미국 생활 17년간 하나님의 사랑의 손에 다듬어진 나는 내 인생의 주인이 예수님이심을 고백하기에 하나님의 계획을 지금은 알 수 없지만 순종하고 섬기기로 한 버몬트 한인교회에서 내 생각을 바꾸셨고 또 선교학교를 통해서도 깨닫게 하셨다. 사실 나는 이 땅에서의 부조리와 악, 각종 차별 문제 등은 우리가 해결할 수 있는 사안이 아니라고 생각해 포기하고 있었다. 그런데 강사 목사님께서 모든 악한 것들이 끝날 것을 믿음으로 ‘아멘’ 하라고 도전하시며 격려하셨다. 셀 수도 없이 많이 외웠던 주기도문의 이 구절 " 뜻이 하늘에서 이룬 것 같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다"를 통해 말씀대로 이 땅에서도 하나님의 정의가 이루어질 것을 믿으며 ‘아멘’ 하며 선포하는데 마음이 뜨거웠다. 뉴잉글랜드 연회 한인여선교회연합회와 전국에 있는 여선교회 회원들이 함께 힘을 합해 절망의 벽, 부도덕과 차별의 벽을 넘는 담쟁이로 작지만 큰 기적을 이루어 나가길 기도한다. 알고 기도하고, 기도하면서 행동하려는 우리에게 주님, 사랑을 보내소서, 능력을 주소서, 은총을 베푸소서!!

One day, my husband shared with me an email from the president of the New England Conference KUMw Network promoting the Mission u seminar. Reading it made me think of my beloved and respected mother, late Dukryun Park, who passed away last year. She prayed for and devoted her entire life to the PCKW.  As the president of Gyeongnam PCKW, she was deeply involved with the nation’s women ministries, giving calls and sending out letters to encourage the members throughout the country. Being reminded of my late mother’s efforts, as well as to show my appreciation for the hard work of our New England Conference KUMw Network committee members, I decided to attend the Mission u seminar. Throughout the seminar, I had a valuable time of being spiritually enriched and challenged by the lecture of Reverend John and honest sharing with fellow members at the Mission u.

Before I got married, God had answered my prayer––not wanting to marry a pastor––and led me to a husband, a promising student who was then preparing for a study-abroad MBA program and had a good job. After three thankful years of marriage, God gave him the heart to pursue the journey of being the Lord's servant, so we came to the U.S. for seminary studies, and found ourselves a Korean church.  The situation between the pastor and the pastor’s wife of the Korean immigrant made me shut down my heart towards the Korean immigrant believers. I saw the pastor and the pastor’s wife sympathizing with the church members and embracing them even in difficult situations, but I strongly appealed to my husband that we must serve an American church from the start once graduating because I didn’t want to suffer among Korean immigrants.

However, during this Mission u seminar, the speaker lectured about how other people have God’s image inside of them, and that we must empathize with them with love. I was suddenly reminded of my past self, who had run away carefree to an American church due to my prejudice and preconceptions, and had let my feelings rule my life’s directions without even once praying about it. During last year's pandemic period, I was very startled upon being told to also serve the Korean church, and when we were already serving two American churches then. My thoughts were, ‘Why now?’ ‘Why us?’ But after 17 years of living in the U.S. during which God has molded me in His loving hands, I could only confess that Jesus is the master of my life. Thus, although I couldn’t comprehend God’s plan back then, I decided to obey and surrender to Him, and serve the Vermont Korean Church. And God indeed changed my thoughts at the church, and He once again made me realize through this Mission u.

Frankly, I had given up on the problems of injustice, evil, and all sorts of discrimination on this earth because I thought they were out of our control and could not be solved by our own. Yet, the speaker at Mission u encouraged me to pray for these things to end with faith, with a strong “Amen!” During when we recited the Lord’s Prayer, which I have had recited for countless times: "May Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven," my heart burned with fire as I was proclaiming my belief with an “Amen,” for God’s justice to be done on earth. I pray that New England Conference KUMw Network as well as all the NNKUMw members would reunite and put our strengths together to make small but big miracles, so that we could be leapers leaping over and beyond the walls of despair, injustice, and discrimination.
Lord, send us your love, as we pray with knowing, and act with praying; strengthen us and pour out your grace!!!

북가주 연회 한인여선교회 선교학교를 마치며……..
펜데믹으로 인해서 작년에 이어서 올해도 ZOOM으로 선교학교를 하였습니다. 북가주 여선교회 임원들의 적극적인 홍보와 개체교회 회장님들의 권면으로 83명이 등록을 하였고 70명 이상 참석 하였습니다.
열정적으로 멋진 강의를 해주신 김명래 총무님과 소그룹 리더들에게 감사를 드립니다. 오프닝 예배 설교와 성찬식을 집례해주신 버클리 열린교회 김규현 목사님께도 감사를 드립니다.
“하나님의 가족 공동체를 보여주라”는 제목으로 영성공부를 했습니다. 책 주제는 누가복음 4:18 절 말씀인 ‘주의 성령이 내게 임하셨으니 이는 가난한 자에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으시고 나를 보내사 포로 된 자에게 자유를, 눈먼 자에게 다시 보게 함을 전파하며 눌린 자를 자유케하고’ ……….
우리의 소명은 세상 사람들과 달리 공의, 평등, 평화로 교회 공동체에서는 물론 세상에서 증거하는 삶을 사는 것입니다.
땅에 속한 존재로서 하나님의 형상으로 지음 받고 선행의 은총으로 죄에서 자유케 하셨기에 하나님이 기뻐하시는 삶을 살아야 할 것입니다.
피조물인 우리는 하나님의 은총으로 성화의 은총을 받았으니 화해와 번영의 변화로 미래를 향하여 나가야 합니다.
현재의 삶 속에서 하나님의 나라를 증언하는 존재로 공감하고 봉사하며 평신도로서 세상 안에서 듣고 공감하여야 합니다. 하나님의 사랑을 입은 우리는 진정한 회개를 통해서 선행의 은총, 의인의 은총, 성화의 은총을 입은 자로서 하나님의 사랑을 실천하며 새로운 피조물로 합당한 삶을 사는 것입니다.
하나님의 제자의 삶은 공동체가 믿음으로 하나가 되어서 정의와 선행의 은총으로 교회를 넘어 세상 속으로 확대되어 전인류가 구원을 받을수 있도록 이끄는것입니다.
현재 우리가 직면해 있는 환경변화는 지금 당장 실천해야 할 사명입니다. 기온이 상승함에 따라 점점 사막화되어가고 있고, 환경오염으로 우리 모든 생명체들이 위협을 받고 있습니다. 환경 호르몬으로 인하여 생태계가 변이되며, 각종 질병을 일으키고 있습니다.
물의 오염, 공기오염, 미세먼지, 쓰레기, 플라스틱, 기온상승으로 인한 식량부족 등등….. 지금 우리가 사는 캘리포니아는 화재와 코로나로 인하여 힘든 시기를 보내고 있습니다. 교회를 푸르게 세상을 아름답게….. 우리는 녹색교회 만들기라는 주제를 가지고 공부했습니다. 자연도 하나님의 가족 공동체입니다. 우리모두는 파괴되어가는 이 땅을 바로잡아 우리가 받은 것보다 더 나은 환경을 후손들에게 물려줄 수 있도록 모두 협조해야 할 것입니다.
이번 선교학교를 통해서 김명래 총무님은 우리 개체교회 여선교회 회원들부터 녹색교회 만들기에 솔선수범해 주시기를 부탁하셨습니다.
환경 주일을 지키고 정기적인 환경 세미나를 통해서 우리가 더 많이 배우고 하나님이 우리에게 잘 보존하라고 주신 이 땅을 아름답고 풍성하게 가꿔서 인간과 자연이 함께 아름다운 공동체를 만들어 가는 일에 최선을 다해야할 것입니다.
이것이 바로 인류 생태 위기를 벗어나 생육하고 번성할 수 있는 길이고 창조 질서를 따르는 길입니다.
힘든 시기를 보내고 있는 북가주 여선교회 회원들에게 위로와 희망이 되는 강의를 해주신 김명래 강사님에게 깊은 감사를 드립니다.

Wrapping the Cal-Nevada Conference KUMw Network Mission u

Like last year, we held our Mission u via Zoom due to the pandemic. Thanks to the active promotion by our Cal-Nevada KUMw committee members and the encouragement from our local network church leaders, 83 people registered and more than 70 attended the event. I thank Myungrae Kim Lee for her passionate lecture as well as the small group leaders. I would also like to thank Rev. GyuHyun Kim of BKUMC for giving the opening sermon and performing the baptismal service.

Our Spiritual Growth Study was done under the title "Displaying God's Family Community.” The subject of the book was on Luke 4:18, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and the recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor…

Unlike the rest of the world, our calling is to live a life witnessing and testifying justice, equality, and peace not just within the church community but to the world. As we live on earth, we must live a life pleasing to God since we have been created in His image and set free from sin by God’s grace. We have been blessed and sanctified by God's grace as His creation, hence we shall move forward to the future of reconciliation, prosperity, and transformation.

As Jesus’ witness in this current life, we must empathize, serve, go and reach out to the world as laywomen to open our ears and empathize. Having clothed with the love of God and received His mercy of good deeds, righteousness, and sanctification, we must practice God’s love and live accordingly as new creation through true repentance.

A life as God's disciple is to have the community become one through faith and to extend and expand the grace of justice and good deeds beyond the church and into the world, leading the whole world into salvation.

The current environmental changes we are facing now is our mission in need of action. As the climate continues to rise, desertification is happening, and all creatures are threatened by worsening environmental pollution. Environmental hormones are harming and altering the ecosystem, creating various diseases.

Water pollution, air pollution, fine dust, waste, plastic, lack of food due to rising temperatures, etc... Our California is experiencing difficulties due to the fires and COVID.
Make the church green, make the world beautiful.....we studied with the theme of creating green churches. Nature is a part of God’s family community. We all need to work together to correct the destruction of our world so that we can pass on to our descendants a better and cleaner environment than when we had received it.

Through this Mission u, Speaker Myungrae Kim Lee urged us to take the initiative in creating green churches, starting with our local network church KUMw members.

By observing Environmental Sundays and regularly holding environmental seminars, and learning more on how we could preserve this land that God has given us beautifully and abundantly, we must do our best in creating a beautiful community between and within mankind and nature.
This is the way to grow and thrive out of the human ecological crisis and follow the creation order.

I would like to thank Speaker Myungrae Lee for giving a comforting and hopeful lecture to us, Cal-Nevada KUMw Network members, during this period of hardship.

하나님이 이르시되 우리의 형상을 따라 우리의 모양대로 사람을 만드시고…….(창세기 1:26) 하나님이 지으신 그 모든 것을 보시니 보시기에 심히 좋았더라(창세기1:31)
하나님 아버, 이 시간 피조물인 저희들 창조주이신 하나님 앞에 진심으로 회개 합니다. 하나님의 형상대로 지음을 받았고, 아무런 대가없이 우리 죄를 대신 지시고 십자가에 죽으시고 부활하셔서 우리를 생명의 길로 인도하신 그 엄청난 사랑을 잘 알고 있습니다. 그러나 우리 마음은 참 완악하고 어찌 이렇게 사랑이 메말랐는지요?
지금은 코로나 질병으로 인하여 세계는 공포와 죽음으로 신음하며 인종 갈등이 점점 깊어져 가 는 사회가 되어 가고 있습니다.
내재된 편견과 차별의식을 버리고 예수님의 마음을 품을 수 있게 하여 주시옵소서. 우리 모두 하나님의 형상대로 지어졌기에 다 하나님의 자녀입니다.
선입견을 가지고 피부색이 다르다는 이유로 그들을 무시했고 또 가난한 나라에서 온 이민자들을 향하여 ‘역시 후진국에서 온 것 표시난다’ 등등…. 얼마나 교만한 마음으로 가득했는지요. 부족했던 저희를 용서해 주시옵소서.
예수님의 이름으로 기도 했습니다. 아멘.

용서와 사랑의 하나님,
우리 안에 정제되지 못하고 꿈틀대는 우리의 연약한 자아가 은연중에 우리보다 약하고 가난한 이웃을 차별하고 무시했습니다. 하나님의 형상대로 살지 못했던 우리 자신들을 발견하고 회개합니다. 또 다른 사람들로부터 차별이나 무시당한 어떤 언행들로 인해 속상해하거나 분노를 느꼈다면 이런 감정들을 추슬러 속상해하거나 분노하지 않게 하옵소서. 하나님께서 우리들을 위로하시고 허락하신 사랑으로 용서하고 이해하게 하시며 미움보다 사랑을, 오해보다는 이해를, 슬픔보다 위로를, 분열보다 화합을 그리고 우리 이웃들을 긍휼히 여기는 넉넉하고 귀한 하나님의 마음을 허락하셔서 우리가 평화의 도구로 쓰임 받게 하시기를 예수 그리스도 이름으로 간구드립니다. 아멘

나 자신이 인종차별을 받는 것도 문제지만 또 나 자신이 알게 모르게 남을 인종차별 한 것에 대해서 회개합니다.
나와 모습이 다르고 생각이 다르다고 너무나도 쉽게 나의 잣대로 그들을 정죄했던 저의 부족함을 회개합니다.

하나님 아버지,
저희는 주님의 형상대로 지어진 다 똑같은 존재입니다.
너무나 당연한 이 사실이 인종이 다르고, 가진 것이 다르고, 주어진 환경이 다르다는 이유로 주님의 뜻과는 너무나 달리 불평등을 주고받곤 합니다.
불평등을 주는 사람은 그 폭력성의 심각함을 생각지 못하고 특권 의식에 사로잡혀 삽니다. 불평등을 받는 사람은 그 상처로 인해 위축됨을 안고 남을 신뢰하지 못하게 되어갑니다. 그 결과 세상은 분리되어 가면서 주님께서 주신 사랑, 공감의 공동체 의식은 점점 약해지고 있습니다.
주님, 이런 세상이 각자의 회개를 통해 하루빨리 하나님의 정의를 회복하기를, 그리고 행동하는 실천을 통해 서로를 존중하고 섬김의 기쁨을 알기를 소망합니다.
그런 이웃사랑의 마음 또한 주님께서 주심을 고백하오니 저희에게 열린 마음과 배려가 있게 하여 주십시오. 아멘.

Hydrangea Small Group Joint Prayer
“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’” (Genesis 1:26)
“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning––the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:31)

Father God, we sincerely repent before You, our Creator. We well know of Your amazing love––You have created us in Your image, sent Jesus to died on the cross for our sins, resurrected and led us to the path of life. Yet how can our hearts be so stubborn and love-drought?

Now, the world is groaning with fear and death due to the coronavirus, with racial conflicts deepening among societies. Help us abandon the inherent prejudice and discrimination and take on the heart of Jesus. We are all children of God because we all have been created in His image. Oh, how we looked down on people because of their skin with prejudice, regarding immigrants from poorer countries as ‘looking/acting according to their underdeveloped background’ etc… how our hearts were filled with so much arrogance! Forgive us, God. We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

God of forgiveness and love,
Our fragile, unrefined inner self has unconsciously discriminated against and ignored our weaker and poorer neighbors. We repent ourselves not living according to Your image. If we have felt upset or angry by any words or actions of discrimination, help us calm such feelings to forgive and understand others with the love You have allowed us with. Help us to act with love instead of hate, understanding over misunderstanding, comfort over sorrow, unity over division, and use us as Your instruments for peace. Amen.

Holy and loving God,
You have commanded us to love one another. But we repent for being unable to handle our duty of harmony and not living as disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a problem to receive racist discrimination, but we also repent for being racist ourselves and discriminatory both consciously and unconsciously. We repent for having judged others according to our own standards just because of their different appearance and way of thinking. Forgive us for our conscious and unconscious sins, and guide us to understand the other person more. Let the false prejudices and preconceptions existing inside our hearts perish in the grace of Jesus Christ's cross.
Empty our minds from all prejudice and let everyone understand and help one another with love in Jesus. We pray that we would together move forward for reconciliation, prosperity, and peace through a holy life. We pray that we’d be willing to give our hearts to do what You desire to work through us for our neighbors. In the name of Jesus Christ who did not come to be served but to serve, we pray. Amen.

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 2:27).

Loving and merciful God Father, thank you for washing us––who deserved eternal death due to the Fall of Adam––with the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, and giving us eternal life. Yet, we repent that the greed and lust in our hearts kept us silent and indifferent instead of caring for the pain of our neighbors due to our envy, jealousy, and hate towards them. We confess that the prejudice in our hearts had discriminated against black people and covertly tried to take superiority over them. We repent that we have disobeyed Your Word, and pray for the division, racism, and hate issues that are happening right now.
Merciful and compassionate Father, we put all our evils down at Jesus' feet. Pout Your Spirit of repentance, renew us with the Word. May Your Kingdom come and Your justice be done on this earth through us––created in Your image––with the power and love You give us. We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).

Father God,
We are all the same beings created in the image of God. This deserved fact is trampled by injustice and exchanges of inequality unlike Your will––just because of a different race, different possession, different background. One who practices inequality is obsessed with a sense of privilege without realizing the weight of the violence. One who suffers from inequality is weighted down with the hurt and wounds, unable to trust other people. As a result, the world segregates further and further apart, and the sense of an empathic community and love that Christ has given us are becoming weaker.
Lord, may this world restore God's justice as soon as possible through repentance, and may it come to know the joy of respecting and serving each other in action. The heart of neighborly love also comes from You, Lord; give us an open and thoughtful heart. Amen.

남가주연회 한인여선교회연합회 선교학교를 마치고
지난 7월 둘째 토요일부터 네 번에 걸쳐 선교학교를 줌으로 했습니다. 해마다 여러 교회가 함께 모이다가 올해 팬데믹으로 인해서 처음 줌으로 모였습니다. “하나님의 가족 공동체를 보여주라” 는 주제로 이문영 목사님께서 강의를 해주셨고 많은 은혜를 받았습니다.
또한, 매주 깊이 있는 주제들을 가지고 그룹 토의 시간도 가졌습니다. 개인적으로 그룹 토의 시간이 정말 좋았는데, 서로 의견을 나누며 다른 사람들의 생각도 들어보는 유익한 시간이었습니다.
“우리의 가족은 누구인가?” “하나님의 가족은?” “연합 감리교회는 왜 유아 세례를 할까요?” “모든 사람이 본질적인 가치가 있다고 믿으시나요?” “하나님은 모든 사람을 사랑한다고 믿으시나요?” 매주 다른 주제로 토론을 하고 반장을 뽑아 발표하는 형식으로 진행하였습니다.
모든 사람이 하나님의 형상으로 창조되었는데, 우리가 선입견으로 사람을 보고 판단하는 것이 문제라는 의견을 듣고 많은 생각을 했습니다. 세례 의식을 통해서 우리는 하나님의 은혜로 믿음의 한 가족이 되었고 새로운 형제, 자매가 생겼습니다.
하나님은 “네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라” 고 명령하셨고, 누구나 똑같이 사랑하시는데, 나는 하나님의 명령대로 살았나? 스스로 자문해 보고 부끄러워 얼굴을 들지 못했습니다. 내 안에 아직도 있는 선입견의 눈, 판단의 눈, 정죄하는 마음을 없애버려야 인종과 상관없이 모두를 하나님의 가족으로 받아들일 수 있지 않을까 생각합니다.
우리 그룹의 어떤 분이 우리의 마음속에는 모두가 가해자라고 말씀해 주셨습니다. 그 말을 듣고 행동으로 드러난 죄만이 죄가 아니고, 마음과 생각으로 지은 모든 것이 죄라는 말씀이 생각났습니다. 다른 인종을 무시하는 마음, 내가 우월하다는 마음… 이런 비뚤어진 마음들을 버리고 백인, 흑인, 황인종이 모두 다 똑같이 창조되었다는 사실을 인정해야겠다고 가슴 깊이 새겼습니다. 그리고, 예절, 도덕, 윤리보다 하나님의 사랑의 법이 먼저 적용되어야 함을 깨달았습니다.
감리교회의 도덕적 증언에서 가장 오래된 전통은 거룩한 삶에 대한 규칙들이라고 교재는 말합니다. 1973년 한 소그룹이 요한 웨슬리에게 신앙 안에서 자기들을 지도해달라고 부탁했을 때, 웨슬리는 3가지 규칙을 제시했습니다. “해악을 행하지 마라. 선을 행하라. 그리고 하나님의 사랑 안에 거하라.” 웨슬리는 구체적이었습니다.
또한, 우리의 눈이 하늘에 향할 것인지, 땅에 향할 것인지 생각해봐야 할 문제입니다. 믿지 않는 이웃을 사랑하고, 가까운 이웃인 가족을 사랑하고, 교회 안에서 우리끼리만 사랑하지 말고 교회 밖에서도 사랑을 실천하는 주님의 자녀가 되어야겠다고 다짐했습니다.
매주 모임마다 마지막에 나오는 ‘성찰을 위한 질문들’은 스스로 나 자신에게 질문함으로써 생각하고 답을 찾아가는 훈련이 되었습니다. 이 교재에 나오는 성 패트릭의 시 “목마른 사슴의 외침” 을 소개합니다.
나는 오늘 일어났습니다.

창조 세계의 창조주의 하나 되심에 대한 고백에 힘입어,

창조주 하나님께서 오늘 나와 함께 하신다는 것을 믿습니다. 그 믿음으로 오늘도 살아갈 힘을 얻습니다. 그리고, 연합감리교회의 일원이라는 사실이 감사하고 자랑스럽습니다. 끝으로 Mission U 줌 선교학교를 열어주신 많은 분들께 감사드리며, 줌 선교학교에 많은 여선교회원이 참여하여 함께 배우고 함께 은혜받으면 좋겠습니다.

Starting the second Saturday of July, this year’s Mission u was held over four sessions via Zoom. Usually, churches would gather every year, but due to the pandemic this year, we gathered on Zoom for the first time.

Rev. Moon Young Lee spoke under the theme of "Displaying God's Family Community" and we were greatly blessed by the lecture. We also had group discussions on in-depth topics every week.
Personally, I really liked the group discussion sessions, since it was a helpful time to share one another’s opinions and listen to others’ thoughts. 

'Who is our family?' 'Who is God's family?' 'Why does UMC have infant baptism?” "Do you believe everyone has intrinsic value?" "Do you believe God loves everyone?" We had a weekly debate on different topics and a class president was elected to present. 

I was able to think deeply to myself upon hearing an opinion that ‘It is wrong for us to judge people with preconceptions, because everyone is created in the image of God.’ Through baptism, we became a family of faith through the grace of God and welcomed a new brother and sister in Christ.

God has commanded us, "Love your neighbor as yourself," and He loves everyone the same. ‘Have I been living by this command?’ I asked myself and couldn't raise my face due to embarrassment. I think that, by getting rid of the prejudiced notions, eyes of judgment, and the sinful mind that still exist in me, will I be able to accept everyone as a family of God regardless of race.

Someone in our group pointed out that we are all perpetrators in our hearts. When I heard that, I remembered God’s word that, not only the sinful action but everything that was done in the heart and mind was a sin. The thought of disdaining other races, the thought of self-superiority...  I engraved deeply on my heart that I should abandon these crooked minds and admit that whether white, black, and yellow, we were all created the same. And I realized that God's law should be applied first and foremost before manners, morality, and ethics. 

The oldest traditions in the Methodist moral testimony are the rules of holy life, the textbook says. In 1973, when a small group asked John Wesley to guide them in their faith, Wesley suggested three rules.  "Do no harm. Do good. And stay in love with God."  Wesley was specific.   

Also, this is a question to think about whether our eyes will face the sky or the ground. I vowed to be God’s beloved child practicing God’s love not only within the church but outside of the church––loving my unbelieving members and loving my own family who are my close neighbors.

Every week at the end of each meeting, "Questions for Reflection" trained us to think and find answers by asking ourselves.  I would like to introduce St. Patrick's poem in the textbook, "The Cry of the Deer.”

I arise today through a mighty strength, the invocation of the
Trinity, through belief in the Threeness, through confession of the
Oneness of the Creator of creation.

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right,
Christ on my left, Christ in breadth, Christ in length,
Christ in height, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

I believe that God the Creator is with me today. This faith gives me the strength to live through the day. And I am grateful and proud to be a member of the United Methodist Church.   
Lastly, I thank everyone who helped make this Mission u happen, and I hope many KUMW members would be able to participate in the Zoom Mission u to learn and be blessed together.

인스턴트 커피 3 스푼, 물 3스푼, 바다소금 1수픈 넣어서 휘저어서 다 녹인후에
꿀 1스푼, 코코넛 오일 1스푼, 샴푸 2스푼 넣어서 섞은 다음 용기에 넣어서 샴푸 대신 사용합니다.

한달정도 사용했는데 그 효과는 정말 좋아요. 커피는 날짜가 지난것도 상관없습니다.
1.우선 샴푸를 아주 적게 사용하니까 두피 가려움증이 사라졌어요.
2. 저는 한달에 한번은 머리카락이 얇고 힘이 없어 코팅이나 헤나를 하는데, 안해도 머리카락이 힘이 있고 건강 해요.
3. 머리 숱이 많아 보여요.
이틀에 한번 삼일에 한번 감아도 가렵지 않아요.
저는 섞을 때 바다소금을 한 티스픈을 첨가해서 쓰고 있어요. 그러면 머리카락이 더 건강해져요. 두피에 상처가 있을 때는 소금은 자극을 주니 안 넣고 하시면 되요.
미장원에서 염색을 하거나 코팅을 할때 사용하는 화학재료를 사용하지 않으니 물 공해를 줄일수 있다고 생각합니다.
집에 있는 재료로 친환경 샴푸를 만들어 쓰고 건강하게 지내세요.

My Practice of Environmental Mission in Life: Making & Using Coffee Shampoo

To make coffee shampoo:
Add 3 Tablespoons of instant coffee, 3 Tablespoons of water, 1 teaspoon of sea salt, and stir to dissolve.
Mix in 1 Tablespoon of honey, 1 Tablespoon of coconut oil, 2 Tablespoons of shampoo. Pour the final mixture in a container and use it instead of regular shampoo.

I have used it for about a month and see very good effects. It is fine to use coffee that is past its expiration date.
1. First of all, the itching of my scalp is gone since I use a very little amount of shampoo.
2. Because of my thin and brittle hair, I used to coat it or use henna dye every month at the Hair salon; now my hair stays  strong and healthy without the need of a coating/henna.
3. My hair looks very full & thick. I don’t feel itchy even when I wash it every two-three days.

I use a teaspoon of sea salt when mixing the ingredients. It makes the hair healthier. If you have a scar on your scalp, salt can irritate it. So in that case, don't add salt.
I think using coffee shampoo can contribute to reducing water pollution since it doesn’t involve any chemicals that are normally used in hair dye or coating services at hair salons.

Try to make eco-friendly shampoo using ingredients at home and stay healthy!

The growing climate crisis is threatening the entire world. It is predicted that mankind will face an unfortunate future if current habits of consumption and wasting won’t change. Hence, starting in 2021, NNKUMw started an environmental mission project called "Making Green Churches" in order to preserve and revive God’s creation. To promote the importance of environmental mission work, we would like to hold a contest with the following information.

Please submit an article containing the following three contents:

2. A Mission ministry that awakens women's ecological sensitivity and preserves the ecosystem.
3. Women's leadership that practices the value for the environment and respect for life in their area of expertise.

제목: Until Unity 예수로 하나 될 때까지
작가: 프랜시스 첸
작가는 예수님께서 이 땅에 오신 목적도 하나님안에서 우리 모두가 회복을 통해 하나되게 하시기 위해 십자가에서 돌아가셨다는 것을 잊으면 안된다고 한다. 그러기에 예수님은 제자들을 향한 마지막 유언의 기도에서 제자들이 하나되기를 간절히 아버지 하나님께 기도했다는 것을 요한복음 17장에서 볼 수 있다면서 기독교인은 분열이 아닌 하나됨에 힘써야 한다고 주장한다. 이런 예수님의 뜻을 따르는 제자들은 우선 자신의 욕심을 내려 놓고 서로 다름을 인정하며 우리 모두의 마음 속에 깊이 쌓여 있는 이기심, 그것이 신앙적이라 해도  하나됨을 위해 버려야 하며  본질만을 붙잡고 그외의 것은 예수님의 사랑안에서 서로 이해와 양보와 협력을 통해 하나됨을 위해  나아가야 하는 것이 우리의 과제라고 말한다. 이것은 결코 혼자 할 수가 없고 여러 믿는자들이 협력해야 하며 성령의 도우심이 절대로 필요하기에 늘 기도가 뒷받침되어야만 가능하다고 믿는다. 분열은 사탄이 가장 좋아하는 일이기에 믿는자는 자신의 행동이나 말이 분열을 조장하지 않도록 조심해야 함을 강조한다.
요즈음같이 여기저기에서 분열을 일삼는 세상 속에서 우리 기독교인들은 어떻게 말하고 행동해야 할 지를 일깨워 주는 좋은 책이라고 믿는다

Title: Until Unity
Author: Francis Chan

The author urges that we must not forget the purpose of Jesus’ coming to this world, that he died on the cross in order to unite us into one through restoration in God. Pointing out how Jesus so earnestly prayed to Father God for the unity of his disciples in his final words of prayer to them in John 17, Chan claims that Christians must strive for unity, not division. He says that it is our task to acknowledge each other’s differences, and abandon the selfishness deep inside our hearts even if it is religious—to hold onto the essence and deal with other non-essential things through mutual understanding, yielding, and cooperation in the love of Jesus. Because dividing and separating are Satan's favorite moves, the author emphasizes that we should be careful not to cause division in our actions and words. In current times in which divisions are so prevalent, I believe this is a good book for us, for it would awaken us how to speak and act as Christian believers.

This year marks 30 years of history since KUMW was organized and started participating in mission work. Since then, we have been holding leadership training for our KUMW members as well as our daughters, second-generation Korean women. Moreover, we have been learning, sharing and growing together through holding leadership training for UMW women in Asia.
Our seniors of faith have trained lay female leaders under the vision of "Women help fellow women to make a better future,” continuing to write the history of great women mission with offerings, prayers and dedication. We want to continue this great mission legacy they have left for us to do "missions for women, children and youth." Hence, we sincerely request for your donation.
